Just don't, that's all I can say. Amp came into the shop this week and found this in the bottom of the cab as "spares".

Need a 10 amp fuse but all you have are five amp? No problem, just solder two in parallel!

Want to see a really burnt up voice coil?

This type of damage is caused by direct current on the speaker leads.

If you have a vintage stereo (or amplifier) that does this, don't hook up another speaker until it's fixed!

We ask you to please pick up your repairs on a timely basis. We will call, text or email you when your repair is complete. If you cannot pick up within 30 days, please make arrangements with us. If we cannot contact you and the item is not picked up after 60 days of repair completion, the ite...

I contacted Tom about fixing my Orange Ad30 tube amp which wouldn't turn on. Tom quickly reached back out to me to schedule an appointment. The next day I brought my amp to Tom and he gave me a good general idea of who he is, how he works, and what he planned on doing to fix the amp. I was nervous about leaving my precious amp with Tom at first - but after a few minutes of talking to the guy I knew it would be in good hands. I then received a very fair quote, and was told to expect about a 2 week wait. To my surprise, Tom reached out to me the next day to let me know that he had gotten to my amp (way early) and that it was fixed. Tom explained in detail what was wrong with the amp, how he fixed it and then charged me a super reasonable price. The amp works good as new now, and Tom was sure to be gentle with it so it was returned in the same condition as it was left. Overall I am thrilled with my experience with Tom, and have already made plans to do more business with him! 5/5

I flipped on my marshall one day, no sound! as you can imagine I panicked a bit, so I called Tom the Hutch Amp Man, and three days later it was back in my studio as good as new! Turns out it was just a bit of cracked solder, something I never expected, but it didn't take Tom long to find it! Tom is a very friendly welcoming tech that has great prices and definitely knows what he's doing, He got my amp fixed in a very timely matter for a great price. I will definitely be seeing him in the future for any of my amp needs!

Tom did great work on restoring my JBL L96 speakers. They needed re-foamed and one woofer needed a new cone. They look great and sound great. Thanks Tom! Highly recommended!
